The stories of very successful people who have gone through radical career transitions and who, in their narrative, describe a process of self-discovery and change of perspective that is fundamental to ontological coaching.

Their stories demonstrate how a change in their “way of being” (their language, their emotions, their beliefs) was the key to their success.

Let's begin with...

Vera Wang: From Fashion Journalist to Bridal Designer!

Vera Wang had a seemingly perfect career.

For 17 years, she was a senior editor at Vogue, one of the most prestigious titles in fashion, and then worked for Ralph Lauren.

At 40, she was at the top of the industry she had loved all her life.

However, her path did not make her completely happy, she felt her creative potential was limited.

The breaking point was personal: when planning her own wedding, she realized that there were no dresses that really represented her.

At that moment, Wang not only asked herself, “What can I do?” but she asked herself a much deeper ontological question, “Who do I want to be?” She did not limit herself to her identity as an “editor,” but questioned beliefs about her age and her place in the world.

Ontological coaching focuses on the self, and Wang changed her self from “observer and critic of fashion” to “creator and designer.”

She allowed herself, at age 40, to assume a new identity.

This radical shift in perspective allowed her to see an opportunity where others saw a void in the marketplace.

With this new vision of herself, Vera Wang opened her first bridal boutique.

She broke with traditions and created modern, elegant designs that resonated with a new generation.

She became one of the most influential bridal designers in the world, proving that true professional fulfillment is not in the title, but in the alignment between who you are and what you do.
